Armed police swooped on a street after an arrow was “shot through a bedroom window” in broad daylight.
Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to Ainley Close in Brookvale, Runcorn, on Tuesday afternoon following reports of criminal damage. A force spokeswoman said no-one was injured.
An investigation is underway. The ECHO attended shortly after 3.30pm, and a hole surrounded by fractured glass could be seen in a first-floor window on a property close to the junction with Masseyfield Road.

A short time later, an officer removed an arrow and Spar carrier bag from the scene. Several groups of bystanders and residents were watching the scene and chatting among themselves.
Armed units, neighbourhood policing unit officers and a crime scene investigation van were present, and a detective also arrived.
The force spokeswoman said: “At 2.32pm on Tuesday, September 20, police were called to an address in Ainley Close, Runcorn following reports of criminal damage. An arrow had been shot through a bedroom window. No one was harmed.
“Enquiries are continuing in the area to establish the circumstances.
“Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 1370883.
