'Armed police' descended on Redfield flats after a call to assist the ambulance service.
Police were called at around 12.10pm on Monday (February 8) to Avondale Road following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman who was found with potentially life-threatening/life-changing injuries.
A Great Western Air Ambulance charity helicopter landed in nearby Netham Park and the crew received a police escort to the scene, according to a witness.

The woman remains in hospital and her family has been informed.
One witness told Bristol Live that he saw armed officers and a number of ambulances at the scene.
Officers are conducting enquiries following the incident, but the circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement today: “Police were called to assist the ambulance service following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at an address on Avonvale Road, Bristol at around 12.10pm yesterday (Monday 7 February).
“On arrival the woman was found with potentially life-threatening/life-changing injuries and she was conveyed to hospital where she remains at the time of writing. Her family have been made aware.
“Enquiries are ongoing, however, the circumstances are not believed to be suspicious at this time.”
