Armed police swooped on a four-star south London hotel after reports of a gunman holed up in one of the suites.
Firearms officers stormed into the £140-a-night Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
A man was arrested in one of the rooms on suspicion of having a firearm and taken to custody.
A Met spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a firearm in a guest room in a hotel in Broadway,Bexleyheath,DA6.
“Due to the nature of the incident, armed officers attended.
“No injuries were reported.
“There is no wider risk to the public. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
London Ambulance Service said they were stood down after no casualties were reported.
Marriott Bexleyheath declined to comment.
