Armed cops and a police chopper descended onto a Scots street in the early hours of this morning amid an ongoing incident.
The force were scrambled to the incident on John Simpson Avenue in Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, at around 2.30am.
Officers taped off a section of the street, with a row of houses within the cordon, while the Police Scotland helicopter circled overhead.
Armed cops and uniformed officers remain on the scene this morning, carrying out ongoing enquiries.

Litter has been pictured strewn across the street as officers guard the site.
The nature of the incident is currently unknown.
