A large group of armed Los Angeles police officers showed up at a mansion in the Encino neighborhood that is connected to a content creation agency called Creators Inc. The reason for the heavy police response was a swatting call; a fake emergency report made to send police to someone’s location. The incident has raised serious concerns about how dangerous these kinds of false reports can be.
According to ABC 7, the LAPD received a call claiming that a man with a gun was at the residence. Officers responded in full force, but when they arrived, they found that nothing was wrong. The entire situation had been made up by someone who intentionally called in a false report to trigger a police response.
