An Armagh councillor has called on Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council to devise a action plan to improve its bin collections and street cleansing operations and claimed the local authority is “falling short” in these areas.
The comments were made by SDLP group leader, councillor Thomas O’Hanlon at a meeting of the governance resource and strategy committee on Wednesday, March 9 during a discussion of the council’s service standards.
The main use of service standards is to clearly indicate to customers and service users what they can expect when using a council service. However, they are also a means of confirming to management and elected members that customers and service users are receiving the levels of service they have been promised.
