Arizona Prosecutors Struggle To Serve Rudy Giuliani With Indictment

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani departs defamation lawsuit at the District Courthouse in Washington

Arizona prosecutors have been facing challenges in serving Rudy Giuliani with notice of his indictment related to an alleged scheme to overturn the 2020 election results in the state. Despite multiple attempts, Giuliani has not been successfully located for the service.

Reports suggest that Giuliani may be hiding in plain sight at his Palm Beach condo, shuttling between New York and Palm Beach to work on his legal matters. When investigators from Arizona visited his New York apartment, they observed Giuliani's podcast being filmed, indicating his presence. However, the doorman refused to accept the notice of indictment, and Giuliani did not respond to calls to come down.

Prosecutors have until May 21st to serve Giuliani with the papers. They have outlined plans to ensure the delivery, including serving him in person, involving New York authorities, or issuing an arrest warrant if necessary.

In criminal cases, difficulty in serving papers is uncommon. Giuliani stands out as the only defendant in the Arizona case who has not been served, prompting focused efforts to reach him.

While it remains unclear whether Giuliani is actively avoiding being served or simply uncooperative, the legal process is expected to proceed, ensuring that he receives the necessary documents related to his indictment.
