Arizona Judge Sets Trial Date For 2020 Election Subversion Case

Donald Trump's business empire in peril as civil fraud trial continues in New York- Donald Trump :

An Arizona judge has scheduled a trial date for January 5, 2026, in the 2020 election subversion case during a hearing held on Monday. This date, set by the judge, is notably later than the request made by prosecutors, who had sought a trial to occur in May or June of 2025.

During the hearing on Monday, several defendants were present in the courtroom, including conservative attorney John Eastman and multiple Arizona Republicans who had acted as fake electors. Additionally, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and Christina Bobb, the top lawyer for the Republican National Committee on election integrity, participated virtually.

Prosecutors had requested a trial in May or June 2025.

The judge acknowledged that the trial date is subject to change and described it as a 'moving target.' Despite this, an initial date of January 2026 was set after defense attorneys expressed concerns regarding the extensive amount of discovery and witnesses involved in the case.
