An Arizona woman who went missing earlier this month was found dead alongside the stalker she had warned about to family and friends.
25-year-old Doris Marcela Aguilar went missing on July 1. Her car was found abandoned a week later in a parking lot in Phoenix. Her body was found about a week later in another car next to Juan Cuéllar's, 51, who authorities said killed Aguilar and then committed suicide. They were identified last Friday.
The bodies were found in a car in a gym parking lot about a week after Aguilar went missing. They were already decomposing, so authorities believe they were in the car for several days.
Aguilar had reportedly told friends and family about the stalker, saying she had changed gyms three times in attempts to get away from him.
Steve Fischer, a private investigator hired by her family, told local press that she "did tell her family and important people in her life about this person, and that if anything happened to her, he was responsible and he scared her." "She was a woman who loved to exercise and helped others."
Fischer went on to recall that Cuéllar sent threatening messages to Aguilar. "Getting my Lifetime [gym] membership back. See you soon," he wrote in a Facebook post from June 27 that was seemingly aimed at Aguilar.
Cuéllar then rented a vehicle to get to his victim. He left a note inside it seeking to make it like Aguilar had died by suicide. However, authorities later concluded that had not been the case.
