Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently expressed his confidence in the Arizona election system, stating that it is in a better position than it was four years ago. Despite the absence of widespread evidence of fraud in the 2020 election, Vance emphasized the importance of ensuring that every legal ballot is cast and counted in the United States.
During an event in Peoria, Vance addressed concerns about the voting machines in Maricopa County, noting that some machines experienced technical issues on Election Day in 2022. He attributed the problems to older printers and longer ballots printed on heavier paper, as identified in an independent investigation conducted by a former Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice.
While acknowledging that achieving perfection in the election process may be challenging, Vance highlighted the improvements made since 2020. He encouraged voters to participate through various methods, including early voting, mail-in voting, and Election Day voting, to ensure that every opportunity to cast a ballot is utilized.
Despite a recent poll showing former President Trump leading Vice President Harris in Arizona by five points, Vance acknowledged the possibility of the Republican ticket losing by a narrow margin. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to undecided voters and maximizing voter turnout to secure victory in the upcoming election.
