Aris boss sends parting message to incoming Celtic transfer signing Luis Palma

Incoming Celtic winger Luis Palma's ex-manager in Greece has revealed he's been responsible for most of Aris' goals this season as he wished him luck in Glasgow.

Palma will secure a £3.5 million move and the Honduran international looks set to make his debut against Rangers at Ibrox next week in the first Old Firm showdown of the season.

The 23-year-old spent 18 months with Aris in the Greek League and their manager Apostolos Terzis wished him well.

He said: "Luis Palma has been involved in almost every goal we have scored so far this season so of course he will be a big loss.

"But I believe I have players in the squad who can step up and make up for his absence.

"I want to wish him the best of luck with his new club, Celtic.

"He worked so hard for our team and Aris also helped him a lot to develop."

Meanwhile, Celtic's transfer fee for Palma will save his former club from going to the wall.

Palma moved to Europe from his first club Deportivo Vida in his homeland who have been suffering severe financial difficulties recently and have been served lawsuits for unpaid debts in Honduras.

But they will reportedly earn around £650,000 from the deal after inserting a sell-on fee when they sold him to the Greek club.
