Ariana Grande has issued a “loving reminder” to fans in response to body-shaming comments and concerns over her weight.
Taking to her Instagram Stories over the weekend, Grande re-shared an interview clip taken during the first press tour for Wicked in which she discussed the commentary about her appearance and her body.
“Resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all,” she wrote in the caption.

In the accompanying clip, Grande reflected on being “in front of the public” since her mid-teens, and said the resulting speculation about her appearance is “dangerous for all parties involved”.
“It’s hard to protect yourself from that noise, and I think it’s something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you’re experiencing it on,” Grande said.
“I’ve heard every version of it, of what’s wrong with me, and then you fix it, and then it’s wrong for different reasons,” she added.
Grande dug deeper into the issue later in the interview, saying fans have a “comfortability” commenting on her body that they “shouldn’t have at all”.
“From what you’re wearing to your body to your face to your everything — there’s a comfortability that people have commenting on that that I think is really dangerous,” she said.
It’s not the first time the singer has responded to discussions about her body.
In 2023, she shared a three-minute TikTok urging those with “concerns about my body” to be “gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies”.
“We should really work towards not doing that as much … Just to aim towards being safer and keeping each other safer,” Grande said.
“The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly,” she added.
Wicked: For Good landed in cinemas on November 20, marking another major cinematic triumph for the beloved pop star.
For her next movie role, Grande will appear in Focker-In-Law, an addition to the Meet the Parents franchise which also stars Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro, with Grande joining the chaotic Focker family fold in what’s tipped to be a scene-stealing role.
