Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez have finalized their divorce after nearly three years of marriage. The Los Angeles Superior Court officially dissolved their union on Tuesday, following a petition filed by the 30-year-old pop star six months ago.
Court documents indicate that Grande and Gomez separated over a year ago, with no children or significant legal disputes to complicate the process. Thanks to a prenuptial agreement, the divorce proceeded smoothly through the court system.
The terms of their settlement, agreed upon in October, include a one-time payment of $1,250,000 from Grande to Gomez, no future alimony, splitting the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home, and covering up to $25,000 of Gomez's legal fees.
Citing irreconcilable differences, Grande's divorce petition reflects the common reason for most California divorces. The couple began dating in January 2020, quarantined together during the pandemic, and announced their engagement in December of the same year.
They tied the knot in a private ceremony at Grande's Montecito home on May 15, 2021. Grande, a Florida-born singer and actor, recently released her seventh studio album, 'eternal sunshine,' on March 8.
She is set to portray the good witch Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical 'Wicked,' alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. The movie is scheduled for release in November.
