Ari Aster's upcoming film 'Eddington' has generated significant buzz as it commences production this week, boasting a stellar ensemble cast. The lineup includes acclaimed actors such as Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and Austin Butler, among others. Notably, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr. are also set to feature in this highly anticipated project, although a release date has not yet been announced.
'Eddington' marks Aster's latest directorial venture, with the narrative revolving around a small-town New Mexico sheriff harboring ambitious aspirations. The film is being financed and produced by A24, the renowned production company behind Aster's previous works, including 'Hereditary' (2018), 'Midsommar' (2019), and 'Beau Is Afraid' (2021).
The cinematography for 'Eddington' will be handled by two-time Oscar-nominated Darius Khondji, adding further prestige to the project. Aster, in collaboration with Lars Knudsen through their company Square Peg, is spearheading the production.
This collaboration between A24 and Square Peg marks the sixth partnership between the entities, underscoring a successful track record. Notably, 'Eddington' reunites Aster with Joaquin Phoenix, who previously starred in 'Beau Is Afraid' alongside a talented ensemble cast.
Phoenix, an Oscar-winning actor for his role in 'Joker' (2019), is set to reprise his character in the upcoming sequel 'Joker: Folie à Deux,' slated for release in October by Warner Bros. Emma Stone, a recent two-time Academy Award winner for her performance in 'Poor Things,' has also been making waves in the entertainment industry.
Pedro Pascal, known for his roles in 'Drive-Away Dolls' and the upcoming second season of HBO's 'The Last of Us,' continues to captivate audiences with his versatile acting. Austin Butler, currently receiving acclaim for his role in 'Dune: Part Two,' is making a name for himself alongside a star-studded cast.
