Minor electrical issues, often dismissed as mere nuisances, could be silent indicators of serious hazards within the home, experts warn. While it is tempting to overlook a buzzing socket or a frequently blown fuse, such seemingly insignificant problems carry the risk of escalating into dangerous situations, including electric shocks and devastating fires.
New research from NICEIC, the electrical certification and training body, found that 22 per cent of property owners adopt an ‘I’ll worry about it tomorrow’ attitude towards potentially dangerous electrical faults, such as constant tripping, broken switches, and flickering lights.
