New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett might be disillusioned by the superstar talent quarterback Aaron Rodgers once was, but at age 40, 42 pass attempts is quite excessive.
Rainy weather conditions, the absence of offensive lineman Morgan Moses, and a prolific Broncos’ secondary still wasn’t enough indication for Hackett to relinquish his pass-heavy fantasy.
Hackett must’ve missed the scouting report on the Denver Broncos defense, especially if he thought he would pass the ball effortlessly without substantial resistance.

Rodgers completed just 24 of his 42 pass attempts on the afternoon, a result of exceptional man coverage schemes by the Broncos, and a total of five sacks allowed.
Moving forward, Hackett and Rodgers need to be more intentional about leading a balanced offensive attack. In week 5, the Jets will need to neutralize the pass rush of the Minnesota Vikings defense and avoid three and outs at all cost.
