Celebrations will take place across the UK and beyond as King Charles' Coronation gets underway on Saturday, May 6.
Thousands of spectators will flock to London to catch a glimpse of the King and Coronation Processions, while a further 2,200 hand-picked guests will attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Coronation garden parties and Big Lunches will take place in neighbours throughout Britain during the three-day weekend.
A special Coronation Concert will take place at Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7, while Monday, May 8, has been declared a bank holiday. It means we have three long weekends to enjoy this May - Monday, May 1 was the May Day bank holiday, there is an extra Monday off for the Coronation and then Monday, May 29 is the spring bank holiday.

Many of us will want to make the most of the extended weekend - whether you're throwing your own street party, or taking on some home renovations. Here are the shops that will be open this Saturday.
Fortunately, there are no obligations for shops and supermarkets to be closed throughout the King's Coronation itself. This means you'll be able to do any last minute shopping to have everything you need to celebrate the occasion on Saturday.
On Coronation Day, all supermarkets will operate their normal opening and closing hours. However, on the Bank Holiday Monday, some supermarkets may introduce different times.
Fast food restaurants, including McDonald’s, KFC, Subway and Burger King have not announced any changes to their usual opening hours for the day of the Coronation, or the bank holiday weekend.
If you want to make the most of the three-day weekend by getting some DIY done, then Ikea, Wickes, Screwfix and B&Q are also open. Shoppers looking to grab a bank holiday bargain can still do so, with both the Arndale Centre and the Trafford centre open across the weekend.
However, as Monday is a bank holiday, it is worth double-checking the opening times for your nearest stores, as they may be limited.
