McDonald's, KFC, Subway and Greggs have all released details of their opening hours for Boxing Day
Boxing Day falls on a Monday this year, making it a bank holiday. However, it is up to the employer whether they choose to operate on Boxing Day.
Some retailers close early on Boxing Day so employees can celebrate the festive season with their family and friends.
McDonald's Boxing Day opening hours
McDonald's will open on Boxing Day. However, as a franchised business it will be different from restaurant to restaurant. In Liverpool, opening hours will be shorter, with some restaurants opening later.

Greggs Boxing Day opening hours
Only a handful of Greggs will be open in Merseyside on Boxing Day. University or industrial trade park stores will likely be closed.

According to KFC, "a number" of their restaurants will be open on Boxing Day.

Subway Boxing Day opening hours
As all Subway restaurants are independently owned and operated, store opening times across the region will vary depending on the franchisee. Most Subways remain open on Boxing Day.
