ALDI’s New Ladder Shelf Could Be the Answer If Houseplants Are Taking Over Your Home – Perfect for Small Spaces and Stylishly Organized Plants

Houseplants arranged on a side table.

I've had the same ladder shelf in my bedroom since I was in my teens. I'm sure you can picture it: tall but not quite big enough, now spilling over with books, trinkets and – of course – houseplants.

After moving into a new place recently, I knew it was time to upgrade my storage, but I didn't want to spend a fortune. The solution? The Belavi Wooden Ladder Plant Stand from ALDI.

In my eyes, this shelf is perfect: it isn't enormous, but it's absolutely ideal for my small apartment. I'm determined to stay organized and stop my plants from taking over every surface, and now they can occupy a dedicated spot. Plus, at just $24.99, I'd say it's a rather unbeatable plant shelf idea.

Ladder shelves are a reliable way to add storage to your home, and they're particularly well-suited to showing off houseplants. Yet as my plant collection has grown, I've become a little reluctant to buy yet another vertical shelf – until I spotted ALDI's plant shelf.

Unlike a classic ladder shelf, which is tall and narrow, this one has a triangular silhouette. It might not sound revolutionary, but I think it makes all the difference: it provides that much more visual interest, whether I display it inside my home or even stand it proudly on my patio.

Of course, there are boundless ways to display plants, and it's worth noting that the tall, traditional ladder shelf really won't go out of style. (Amazon's rubberwood bookshelf organizer is a great place to start if you're on the market for some classic storage.)

If you're working with limited space, however, you might want to replace a ladder shelf with a few chic plant stands for indoor plants. Options like Terrain's scalloped wicker plant stand are just as show-stopping as the plants you choose to display, while reliable buys like IKEA's bamboo plant stand offer a more understated look.

Crafted from FSC-certified fir wood, ALDI's plant shelf strikes a particularly brilliant balance between a rustic and contemporary look.

Naturally, I'm hoping that my houseplants will serve as the main event, but it's always good to know that I'm investing in storage that's both stylish and practical – even if it's only $25.

(And if you're an Instacart+ member, spend just $10 more at ALDI and you'll get free delivery; I'd pick up a beige plant stand to make the most of the deal.)

Truth be told, I'm tempted to pick up a second ALDI shelf since it's so affordable, but I can't decide where to put it. (If I had a balcony garden, I would absolutely allow this shelf to take pride of place.)

When it comes to outdoor space, I'm already eyeing up IKEA's Lacko shelving unit to house larger pots on my patio. However, I'll never regret buying more storage, especially when my garden finally bursts into life this spring – so it looks like I'll need to take another trip to ALDI.
