Thrissur district has won five Ardra Keralam awards instituted by the State government for the best performance of local body institutions in the health sector.
The Mullassery block panchayat won the first prize (₹10 lakh) in the State in the block panchayat category. The Thrissur Corporation won the second prize (₹5 lakh) in the Corporation category.
Under the district-level panchayat category, Velukkara won the first prize (₹5 lakh) and Varavur the second prize (₹3 lakh). Paralam came third (₹2 lakh).
