Skatesterre is a brand new arcade skateboarding game inspired by the golden era of skate games such as the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, and it just got a world premiere announcement during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase. As seen in the intro during the show, it's based around Sterre Meijer aka @surfsterre, a former professional surfer turned skater who has provided their likeness for the central character.
Taking in classic locations such as a spillway, shopping mall, warehouse, construction site, and water park, there's an immediate high energy to proceedings as Sterre grinds, flips, and manuals around each area, racking up high-scoring combos and getting massive air between jumps along the way. With collectibles to find and secret areas to unlock, you'll be well rewarded for exploring the world around you as you rock out to the pop punk soundtrack.
The trailer shows that there will be a ton of customization available for central character Sterre, so you can mix and match apparel items including tops, bottoms, socks, and shoes to get the perfect look for your skater. Board customization also features, letting you change the shape of it and the graphic applied, while it appears that there will be plenty of custom decks to collect as well – if you've ever wanted to shred on a keyboard, a pizza slice, or even a Back to the Future-esque hoverboard, then your opportunity is just around the corner.
Skatesterre is targeting a summer 2026 release window for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, so make sure you wishlist it now on Steam and follow publisher Headup on X for the latest news.
