May arabica coffee (KCK25) Thursday closed down -1.05 (-0.27%), and May ICE robusta coffee (RMK25) closed up +20 (+0.35%).
Coffee prices on Thursday settled mixed, with arabica falling to a 1-1/2 week low. Arabica coffee came under pressure Thursday after Somar Meteorologia forecast widespread showers for next week in Minas Gerais, Brazil's biggest arabica-producing region, which eases dryness concerns. Robusta coffee recovered from early losses Thursday and closed higher on signs of tighter supplies after ICE-monitored robusta coffee inventories fell to a 1-1/2 week low of 4,303 lots.
