Hollywood superstar Jason Momoa has been announced as the latest celebrity to read on CBeebies Bedtime Story.
Momoa will be seen getting cosy in the CBeebies studio in his PJs as he reads the children’s classic tale Tiddler by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, the story of a little fish with a big imagination.
Opening the story, the Aquaman 2 star says: “I’m here to read you a Bedtime Story from my underwater kingdom.
"The sea is full of stories. I could tell you many tales of my amazing adventures in the sea, but I’m not the only one.
"Every creature in the ocean, from the mightiest whale to the tiniest tiddler, has their own tale to tell. And this book is about a very little fish who has some very big stories of his own.”
Of his taking part, Momoa said in a press release: “One of my favourite books that I read to my children as they were growing up was The Gruffalo, so I am very happy to read another amazing story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler for a CBeebies Bedtime Story.”
The episode will air on Friday (December 22) at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
Momoa’s CBeebies Bedtime Story tops off a week of celebrity readings for the much-loved show.
Christmas week kicks off today (December 18) with a brand new story from ever-popular CBeebies Bedtime Story reader Tom Hardy.
Recorded earlier this year in his garden, Hardy is accompanied by his French bulldog, Blue.
The award-winning actor, who first appeared on CBeebies on New Year’s Eve 2016, reads Tisha and the Blossom by Wendy Meddour and illustrated by Daniel Egnéus. At this busy time of year, the book encourages us all to slow down and take notice of the world around us.
After reading the story, Tom says: “Tisha has taught me a great lesson, just slow down. Theworld can be a very, very busy place. Your mind can be full of sounds and pictures and just… busyness. So it is important to take your time to slow down and go at your own speed.”
On Tuesday (December 19), Mr Motivator takes to the story seat to read Into the Wild by Thomas Docherty about a little boy Joe who learns that nature can be found just about everywhere when he goes to find bright and beautiful wild things in the city.
Wednesday (December 20) sees singer and internet star Talia Mar read Princesses Break Free by Timothy Knapman and illustrated by Jenny Løvlie, a wild adventure about a princess who takes life into her own hands without waiting around for somebody else to rescue her.
Then, on Thursday (December 21) musician Gaz Coombes returns to CBeebies where he will read Ella May Does It Her Way by Mick Jackson and illustrated by Andrea Stegmaier about a younggirl who likes to do things her way.
Of his latest appearance, he said: “It was such a joy to read for the brilliant CBeebies Bedtime Stories again. This time it’s Ella May Does It Her Way. It’s a funny, sweet little tale that I hope you all enjoy hearing as much as I did reading it.”
