April Fool’s Day 2026: All the best jokes and pranks

  • It’s April Fool’s Day! Some of the country’s best-loved brands including Tesco, Dole and Zizzi have embraced the silliness, with other unlikely tales popping up on several news feeds. Here are some of the best jokes for 2026.
  • Asda on Wednesday announced it was rolling out adult-sized trolley seats to tackle “shopping chaos” while Tesco unveiled its latest product: a giant boiled egg. Boots Opticians suggested it was launching weather-reactive glasses.
  • Meanwhile, fruit company Dole revealed its latest culinary creation - the tinned Hawaiian pizza, with Terry’s suggesting it was bringing a Chocolate Orange phone case to the market and Ikea, a meatball lollipop. Babybel unveiled its new product - the Choccybel - while restaurant Zizzi suggested it was trialing a candy floss pizza.
  • The Oxford Mail had an excellent exclusive this morning - that Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has bought a 14th century Cotswolds castle for £95m so he could study acting at Oxford. Dazed ran a story that Timothée Chalamet was undergoing ballet training to be part of the Billy Elliot reboot.
  • Elsewhere, The Royal Albert Hall announced its new ‘Let Them Cook’ season, including dates for a ‘Doomscrolling Concert' and an ‘Evening of Rage bait.’
