Apple is set to release a new iPhone update, iOS 17.6.1, as reported by MacRumors. This update may come as a surprise to many iPhone users who anticipated iOS 17.6 to be the final upgrade before the launch of iOS 18 next month. MacRumors has confirmed through a reliable source that Apple is internally testing iOS 17.6.1, as indicated in their analytics logs.
iOS 17.6.1 is expected to focus on security fixes for iPhones, potentially addressing vulnerabilities that could be exploited in real-life attacks. With iOS 18 on the horizon, Apple aims to ensure that users are equipped with the latest security patches. While iOS 17 will continue to receive security updates post the iOS 18 launch, upgrading to iOS 18 will provide users with a more comprehensive set of fixes.
