Tech giant Apple's two premium native software programs for creators are finally coming to iPad.
May 23 is the date when Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro go live on the App Store and become compatible with the firm's acclaimed tablets.
The latest iPad Pro models have the firm's incredibly powerful M2 processor inside which means they will breeze through the massive creative tasks these machines will now be capable of thanks to these new apps.

Both apps will be offered as a subscription model and it's not just the top-end iPad Pro that they are compatible with.
Final Cut Pro is compatible with all M1 chip iPad models or later, and Logic Pro is available to all A12 Bionic chip iPad models or later.
Final Cut Pro for iPad
The firm said its ultimate movie creation app will sport an all-new interface and intuitive tools that take advantage of the iPad's touchscreen.
By using Multi-Touch gestures, creators can navigate the Magnetic Timeline, manipulate clips, and make quick frame-accurate edits with the touch of a finger. A new Live Drawing feature allows users to draw and write directly on top of video content using Apple Pencil.
With Reference Mode, creators can view and edit HDR video precisely, leveraging the remarkable Liquid Retina XDR display of the 12.9in iPad Pro to apply accurate colour grades.
Creators can also record footage in top-quality formats such as ProRes, meaning creators can capture, edit, and publish ProRes video from a single device while in the field.
Processors inside the iPad mean anyone using Final Cut Pro will also be able to take advantage of machine learning to help speed up time-consuming editing tasks.
Scene Removal Mask enables creators to quickly remove or replace the background behind a subject in a clip without using a green screen.
Auto Crop adjusts footage for vertical, square, and other aspect ratios, and with Voice Isolation, background noise can easily be removed from audio captured in the field.
Editors can import supported media from Files or Photos, and save directly inside a Final Cut Pro project. You can also import projects created in iMovie for iOS, and export Final Cut Pro projects to Mac.
Logic Pro for iPad
Music producers and beat makers will be rejoicing as Apple is bringing its flagship DAW to a multitouch device for the first time.
Logic Pro for iPad ships with more than 100 instruments and effects, with the multitouch-capable interfaces enabling you to bring them all to life.
The app also includes an all-new sound browser that puts all available instrument patches, audio patches, plugin presets, samples and loops in a single location. You can then tap any sound to audition it before you add it to a project.
Among the highlights are a new instrument, the Sample Alchemy synth; a new time and pitch-morphing plugin Beat Breaker along with iPad-friendly variants of Logic Pro’s Quick Sampler, Step Sequencer and Drum Machine Designer features.
The Live Loops feature is here too, an alternative to the standard, timeline-based arrangement view.
Plugin Tiles, meanwhile, will put the most useful controls for any instrument or effect at your fingertips.
The app will include a full-featured 'pro' mixer — complete with channel strips, volume faders, pan controls, plug‑ins, sends, and precise automation. Multi-Touch will enable creators to mix intuitively and move multiple faders at once.
Apple says that Logic Pro for iPad will be compatible with the Mac version via its “roundtrip capabilities”.
A number of audio export options are available, too, including compressed, lossless and individual track stem. GarageBand for iOS projects can be opened in Logic Pro for iPad, too.
And music creators can make a soundtrack in Logic Pro for iPad and export it into Final Cut Pro for iPad — providing incredible flexibility for working across music and video.
Pricing and availability
Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad will each be available on the App Store from May 23 for €4.99 per month or €49 per year with a one-month free trial. Both apps require iPadOS 16.4.
