Apple announces ‘Welcome Home’ event to launch entirely new kind of products

Apple has announced a new “Welcome Home” event in which it is expected to launch an entirely new kind of product.

The company will hold a special launch on 13 October, it said in a range of announcements. It is widely expected to focus on the smart home, with the main new product being a home hub that is something like an iPad that is intended to be left on in people’s houses.
