Appeal to identify man after London bus driver racially abused

Police are appealing for help to find a man after a London bus driver was racially abused.

The driver of a 314 bus had challenged a passenger after he had pushed the emergency exit button on the vehicle, in an incident on Eltham High Street, at about 12.15pm on January 12.

In response, he was racially abused and sworn at.

Officers have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Dougall, said: “The Met does not tolerate any form of discrimination or abuse and is committed to working with partners, including TfL, to robustly tackle hate crime by holding offenders to account.”
