An appeal has been made for volunteers to help at a top sporting event being held in Dumfries next year.
The International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship is taking place at the end of January.
And the organising committee is looking for people to assist with a variety of roles including driving, video camera operation and judging.
Teams from Great Britain, Australia, Netherlands, Latvia, Turkey and Mexico will compete in the tournament at Dumfries Ice Bowl between January 20-28.
The council is supporting efforts to get local people involved.
In a joint statement councillors Archie Dryburgh and John Campbell of the communities committee said: “The council wants to celebrate the championships with the local community and becoming a volunteer is a great way to be a part of a world-class sporting occasion.
“Ice hockey is a thrilling live sport to enjoy and we want to continue the excellent work that has been started at the previous championships at Dumfries Ice Bowl.”
Other roles available include goal judges, statistics assistants and game operations assistants.
Training for some of the technical roles can be provided for those with no experience.
Brian McMeeken has volunteered at previous events and is already looking forward to helping out again.
He said: “It is great to be part of a world-class event in my local town as it is something that doesn’t come around very often.
Anyone interested in volunteering should get in touch with Struan Tonnar, local event lead at struan.tonnar@dumgal.gov.uk.
