Police are appealing for the public’s help after a pensioner was injured following a hit-and-run. Officers were called to the junction of Friar Lane and Spaniel Row in Nottingham city centre after a van collided with a woman in her 70s and failed to stop.
The collision happened shortly after 11am on July 12. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The van was described as a large, white van with ‘Thrifty’ written on the side. The driver is thought to be male, aged 50-60, of a large build with little or no hair.

PC Pearce Riley, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This was a deeply upsetting incident for the lady concerned and she is still recovering from her injuries. We are keen to trace the driver and would ask anyone with information that could assist the investigation to please come forward, especially if you have dash cam footage that might have captured the van around the time of the incident”.
