Apex Legends moves forward with another new season. Season 14 lasted just over two months and now the next batch of content is unleashed upon the world. This time we’ve got a brand new map like no other, and the game’s first transgender legend, so there’s plenty to celebrate this time around. There are a bunch of smaller features too, including a new map rotation, a new type of cosmetic item, and some changes to ranked.

New legend: Catalyst
Catalyst is a big deal for Apex Legends, both in terms of abilities and representation. As the game’s first trans character, the game is looking for diverse than ever, something we explored in-depth when we talked to Apex’s lead writer. Catalyst’s role is all about stopping scanners from doing their jobs effectively, as well as giving greater control over the enemy team’s movements. New map: Broken Moon
Broken Moon is a great new map that tries to learn from the previous maps. It’s much smaller compared to Storm Point, making for more focused gameplay while still having lots of interesting POIs. It’s full of ziplines that allow for extremely fast movement and add new considerations to combat. We have a full breakdown of Broken Moon if you want to know everything there is to know.
Eclipse map rotation
This season, dubbed Eclipse has a rotation of three maps for public matchmaking in Battle Royale mode. These three maps are:
- Broken Moon
- Olympus
- World’s Edge
Ranked entry requirements
Things are becoming a little more exclusive for ranked players, as the team at Respawn clearly thought the current barrier to entry was too low. Now players will need to get to Level 20 before they can enter ranked matches, as opposed to Level 10 like it was previously. This isn’t as much of a leap as it seems, but it means new players will have to spend a bit more time getting used to their preferred maps and legends before getting serious.
Stickers
Stickers are a nice little cosmetic flourish that can be applied to a bunch of different healing items. You can apply these to things like Medkits, Shield cells, and Syringes for your own little flair. You’ll automatically get the Shattered and Deathbox stickers when you first log in this season, and you can get 20 more in sticker packs available exclusively in the special stores tab until November 22.
