MUMBAI: A major reason why India have been an unstoppable force in the 2023 ODI World Cup so far has been their lethal bowling, which has never allowed the opposition batsmen to put up something substantial that can challenge the hosts' batters. In Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, India have an all-round bowling attack blessed with tremendous striking ability and variety. On the eve of his team's clash against India at the Wankhede Stadium, Sri Lanka's head coach Chris Silverwood made no bones in admitting that any team in the world would want to have a bowling arsenal like India's.
"If you look at that bowling attack and you watch them operate, it is a very strong bowling attack. I think any team in the world would want an attack like that, to be honest. But we see that as a great challenge for our guys. We see it as an opportunity to go out and play against the best and see, I mean, pit ourselves against that. But there is no hiding it is a very good bowling attack," Silverwood said.
