Antonio Rudiger has been a revelation under Thomas Tuchel.
In just over 12 months under his countryman's tutelage he has reinvigorated his Chelsea career and his place in the hearts of Chelsea supporters.
The Blues defender put in another accomplished display as Chelsea came away as winners of the Club World Cup to add to their Champions League and UEFA Super Cup win, since Tuchel arrived at the club - while the Blues contend the Carabao Cup Final later this month.
It was a tight contest against Palmeiras, in which Chelsea had to fight until the very end to earn their 2-1 victory after extra-time following goals from Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz.
That allowed for a match in which Rudiger played an important role but was also able to display the idiosyncrasies that warm the heart of the Chelsea faithful.
football.london takes a look at some of those moments from the Blues' success in Abu Dhabi, that anyone at the club is sure to miss should he not extend his deal that is set to expire this summer.
Playing well
Rudiger's consistency has been a hallmark of his time under Tuchel and in particular as part of a back three.
The German international once again showed why his head coach is so reluctant to rotate him on the left side with an important interception in the opening half hour as Palmeiras began to threaten in the game, and easily brushed Rony off the ball in the second period to affirm why he is so strong in one-on-one situations.
Was there a long-range shot to go with the performance? Of course there was but Rudiger is no meme, as he earned the Alibaba Cloud Match Award following his performance.
Kai Havertz's penalty
The former Roma star left himself on the edge of the centre circle as Kai Havertz lined up to take the penalty that would win Chelsea the game.
Rudiger could only kneel, almost in prayer as he watched on from a distance, waiting for the ball to hit the net.
When it did, he sprinted from his isolation to meet his teammates in the corner of the pitch, ended up pulling a photographer's chair over the advertising boards before polishing off his celebration by punching the corner flag as Jorginho tried to keep him among the celebrations.
It was certainly unique, and very Rudiger.
Getting fired up
The 28-year-old has been touted as Chelsea's 'aggressive leader' by Tuchel and that isn't only because of how he interacts with those players on the pitch.
Upon snuffing out one Palmeiras chance, Rudiger hammered Edouard Mendy's post and shouted towards the vast number of Palmeiras supporters behind the goal.

Celebrating in his own unique way
While he brings his own manner of aggression, his eccentricity also brings plenty of fun to the Chelsea squad.
While the Blues jumped, shouted and cheered as Cesar Azpilicueta lifted the Club World Cup trophy for the first team with the world's photographers snapping away, Rudiger stayed crouched down by Reece James and simply stared manically towards the cameras in front of him.
As the celebrations continued he put Andreas Christensen onto his shoulder to parade around to the bemusement of Hakim Ziyech and Lukaku and once he headed inside he was the life of the party.
Rudiger played up to the dressing room cameras, danced with vigour in tandem with Callum Hudson-Odoi before later simply repeating 'we won, we won'.
It's clear he has a prominent presence in the dressing room leading celebrations, setting the tone on and off the pitch.
Rudiger makes sure his presence is felt elsewhere too.
As journalists and staff waited in the mixed zone of the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, Rudiger made sure to let out a roar that caught quite a few people off guard.
The Chelsea star has just a few months remaining on his contract and it's more than his performances on the pitch that will be missed if he doesn't agree a deal with the Blues.
