If Brandon Staley thought he’d get off easy during the Los Angeles Chargers’ humiliation on Thursday night, he got another coming. Even after delivering the saddest halftime interview — before he’d already predicted when his job might be on the line — the Las Vegas Raiders would still absolutely rub it in for Staley.
And they did so on Antonio Pierce’s directive. In his halftime interview, the Raiders’ interim coach effectively proclaimed that Las Vegas would show their AFC West rival no mercy even though they led by six touchdowns. I mean … sure? More power to him, I suppose.
It’s a rivalry game for a guy trying to impress his hopeful long-term boss. Everything’s fair game!
Antonio Pierce asked by @KayleeHartung what he told his #Raiders team about the second half: “Press the gas pedal even harder.” 🫣

For what it’s worth, Davis did seem impressed by the Raiders pouring it on while scoring another three touchdowns in the second half. Pierce stayed true to his word and piled on Staley’s and the Chargers’ misery.
