Antonio Conte told Tottenham's best player and it's not Harry Kane

Glenn Murray and Robbie Keane have both heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min.

The South Korean international has missed the last few weeks through injury but returned to the matchday squad on Saturday evening as Spurs hosted Brighton to north London in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

And Murray, who enjoyed a productive career with the Seagulls, hailed Son's influence on Antonio Conte's side, claiming that the skilful winger is the club's best and most important player, ahead of England captain Harry Kane.

Speaking on ITV, Murray said: "For me he’s the jewel in the crown. He brings a presence when he plays. Sort of an injection of life into the team, he makes things happen. He’s always looking for Harry Kane.

"For me he is Tottenham's best and most important player. To tie him down to a deal is fantastic business once again by Tottenham and Daniel Levy."

Former Spurs striker Keane also chimed in, admitting that he prefers Son to Kane due to the former's tireless energy.

The Republic of Ireland icon added: "Son is my favourite if I'm honest. I absolutely love watching him.

"Every time he has the ball the players stand up on their feet because he can do something special and brings brilliant energy to the team. Lucky to have him back."

The 29-year-old has enjoyed another productive season for the Lillywhites, netting nine goals and providing a further three assists in just 19 starts this term.

Speaking ahead of the match against Brighton, Conte admitted that he was extremely happy to have Son fully fit and available.

“Sonny is okay, and now we have three games in a few days, it will be very important to give him the right minutes to play, but Sonny is another player that, you know very well, is very important for us," the Italian said.

"He can move the balance during a game. I’m very happy to have him available again."
