Antonio Conte could use Africa Cup of Nations to help Tottenham scout Fiorentina midfielder

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte could potentially be looking to secure two or three new signings before the transfer window closes on Monday.

With Wolves winger Adama Traore looking like a done deal, rumours have also began to gather linking Spurs with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The 25-year-old is currently away with Morocco on Africa Cup of Nations duty, but strong interest has linked the former Feyenoord man with a move to the Premier League.

With reinforcements seemingly required given Conte's hopes of guiding the Lilywhites back into Europe ready for next season, deals will have to be tied up quickly, given only days remain until the transfer deadline.

Furthermore, here are some other potential names Spurs could go after, as football.london takes a closer look at AFCON stars who could interest Daniel Levy and co...

Sofyan Amrabat

Amrabat has spent just 18 months in Florence, with Antonio Conte thought to be a fan after seeing the midfielder play against his Inter Milan side last season.

Capable of playing in a number of different positions, the Morocco international has impressed heavily at AFCON so far, ranking fourth in best pass success rate of central midfielders at the tournament in Cameroon, with 93 per cent.

Given Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso could leave the club this month, additional bodies are needed and Amrabat could hold the key to a new era under Conte in North London.

Karl Toko-Ekambi

Cameroon forward Karl Toko-Ekambi is at the peak of his powers this season, and could rival Harry Kane should the England captain decide to depart further down the line.

Netting three goals in just four games at AFCON so far, Toko-Ekambi is bidding to claim his second crown after winning the competition with the Indomitable Lions back in 2017.

Deadly in front of goal, the former Villarreal man would provide strong competition for any Premier League defender giving the dazzling dribbling skills he also possesses.

Ismaila Sarr

Watford and Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr is another name who could perhaps attract Tottenham attention, should the Hornets be relegated this season.

Sarr has now joined up with the Lions de la Teranga ahead of their quarter-final tie next week and will provide an excellent addition heading into the latter stages.

Sarr was dazzling in the Championship last season, and Spurs could acquire the 23-year-old at a reduced price should Watford make the drop at the end of the season.
