Antonio Colak to Rangers latest as PAOK boss opens up on transfer hurdle as four clubs keen 'named'

PAOK boss Razvan Lucescu has confirmed the club have received an 'important' offer for Antonio Colak - but won't sanction a move until they find a replacement.

Rangers have identified the Croatia cap as a top transfer target this summer as Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to boost his attacking options. Last season the Light Blues suffered at the tail end of the campaign with Alfredo Morelos ruled out through a thigh injury sustained on international duty while Kemar Roofe also spent a period on the sidelines. That left Fashion Jr and Cedric Itten - who has now left the club - as the only recognised strikers.

Colak is no stranger to the Ibrox faithful as he netted twice for Swedish side Malmo last season as they eliminated then boss Steven Gerrard's side from the Champions League qualifying rounds. The 28-year-old emerged as a second-half sub in a friendly game with Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands as talk over his future continues to rumble.

The Scottish Sun report that four other clubs are keen on the hitman and have named them as Copenhagen, Panathinaikos, Real Mallorca and his former club Malmo.

They say Rangers remain in the driving seat to bring in the forward but his current club boss has admitted a deal won't happen until a suitable replacement is in the door.

He said: "I can tell you I know about an offer for Antonio from a good club that for him could be important.

"At the same time if Antonio leaves in the next few days it's a problem as it leaves us with one striker.

"The official games are coming soon and it's not easy to bring in new players.

"You need time. Time for negotiations, money, players that are available and not, players that have chemistry with us.

"So these are the two aspects and they are not so easy to be solved. From Antonio and from us."
