Antonio Colak's Rangers form has him outshining Lewandowski as he hits world's top 10 strikers list

Antonio Colak is currently among the top 10 strikers in world football in terms of goals amid his great start to life at Rangers.

The Croatian international scored his second brace on the spin at the weekend as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side won 4-0 against St Mirren on Premiership duty. His latest strikes take Colak’s total for the campaign to 13 in 16 matches, 10 goals in nine Scottish Premiership appearances and three in the Champions League.

It means he is ranked number eight in the world when it comes to goals and he's just outside Europe's top 3, sitting in fourth spot. Only Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland, CSKA Sofia hitman Ivaylo Chohev and Milan Bojovic of Mladost are ahead of him on the continent, meaning the likes of Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski aren't near Colak's Rangers numbers this season. If he maintains his current rate of scoring then he could throw himself into the Golden Shoe race.

Ally McCoist was the last Scottish player to win this award after netting 34 goals in season 1992/93, but how it's ranked may go against Rangers' current number nine.

Goals scored in a top five league according to the UEFA coefficients list are multiplied by a factor of two, goals scored in leagues ranked 6 to 22 (previously 9 to 21) are multiplied by a factor of 1.5, and goals scored in leagues ranked 22 and below are multiplied by a factor of 1. So goals ranked in higher leagues will count for more.
