PAOK icon Filotas Pellios is praying his club sell Antonio Colak to Rangers immediately...because he reckons the forward doesn't score enough.
The Ibrox side are desperate to snap up the Croatian international in a deal worth around £2 million, but are being frustrated by the Greek club refusing to sell until they find a replacement. Colak is currently in the Netherlands at PAOK's training camp and is due to play against Groningen in Wenum-Wiesel in a pre-season friendly today.
However, former Greek international defender Pellios - who won the title and cup with PAOK - believes they should get rid of 28-year-old Colak now, after he only scored two league goals in 15 appearances last season. He said: "PAOK definitely need new blood if they are to challenge for the title this season. I believe the squad is too old too. We desperately need a new striker. Colak should leave. If there is an opportunity to sell him, we should take it as soon as possible. PAOK needs a player who scores goals and he doesn't score enough."
Colak was free-scoring at Malmo, where he netted 22 goals in all competitions as he revived his career under Jon Dahl Tommasson. He was even the architect of his potential future's downfall in Champions League qualifying. Cedric Itten has left Rangers and Alfredo Morelos faces an uncertain future, as Gio van Bronckhorst eyes talent at the top end of the pitch.
