Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst says his Light Blues side will head into their pivotal Champions League contest with Liverpool trying to be positive - as he hailed in-form Antonio Colak.
The Croatian signed from PAOK in the summer netted his third double on the spin as they dispatched of St Mirren 4-0 on Premiership business. A James Tavernier penalty helped them on their way and Fashion Sakala's bright display with fellow attacker Ryan Kent benched brought a goal to round things off.
They now face Liverpool on Champions League matchday four and Rangers need to take something from it if they are to have any hope of qualifying for the last 16. Van Bronckhorst was criticised for a defensive system at Anfield that saw his clinical forward benched, but said of the game and Colak: “Antonio has started well and the first goal shows his ability to be proactive instead of reactive.
"He’s on fire in the league with the goals he’s scoring at the moment and that’s what you want from your striker. Fashion had a really good game. He scored a really good goal but also the threat he had on the right.
“It’s a big test against a good team but of course we need to have a different approach because if we want to continue our run in Europe then we have to get points out of our remaining games so that means you need to have a positive approach.
“We have to be brave and we were in second half moments because we were defending one on one almost all over the pitch because we were pressing high."
