Antonio Colak entices Rangers as transfer price set and PAOK offer suitors extra wiggle room

Rangers will be able to land transfer target Antonio Colak for a bargain fee this summer with PAOK desperate to move the striker on this summer.

Reports in Greece claim that the Ibrox side have made their move for the Croatia international as they look to bolster their attacking options, Record Sport understands Ibrox chiefs are keen but another move for the 28-year-old Croatia international is unlikely to come soon.

The door remains open for a move to Rangers with the Greek Super League side hoping to move the striker on after he failed to grab a regular starting spot following his loan spell at Malmo. Colak has already netted at Ibrox after tormenting the Rangers defence during the Champions League third qualifying round defeat the the Swedish side that denied the club a spot among Europe's elite. He netted 19 goals for the Swedes, but scored just twice for his parent club PAOK during a lacklustre return to Greece in January.

Politic state that Rangers initial offer was rebuffed as they did not meet the €2million (£1.7million) valuation for a player who is contracted until 2024.

PAOK chiefs are reportedly open to another loan exit next season if a fee cannot be agreed for Colak. However, it is noted that the Europa League finalists are not the only club eyeing a deal this summer.

Gio van Bronckhorst will be keen to add depth to his frontline this summer with Joe Aribo being forced to lead the line during key moments last season after injuries to Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe.

Cedric Itten has already been sold this summer, and the club could cash-in on Morelos with the Colombian's contract set to expire next summer.
