Antiques Roadshow's Fiona Bruce issues appeal to all BBC viewers over special episode

Fiona Bruce has issued an urgent appeal for viewers of the Antiques Roadshow to get in touch with the show ahead of a special episode which is firmly in the works.

The Antiques Roadshow is one of those shows that many of us have grown up with and has woven itself into British culture. Loads of viewers tune in every series, week after week, trying to guess how much items brought along by collectors are worth, while for others its theme tune will always remind us of Sunday night bath time before having to be up for school again the next morning.

There have been a number of high profile hosts at the helm over the Antiques Roadshow's 43 year run on the BBC, including Angela Rippon, long-running presenter Hugh Scully and even This is Your Life's Michael Aspel. Former newsreader and Strictly contestant Fiona has been in charge for 14 years now and on Sunday she was on location at Bishop's Palace in Somerset for another show.

During the show, as well as chatting to furniture expert Lennox Cato, Fiona was challenged by expert Geoffrey Munn to put three pieces of stunning Fabergé jewellery in order of value. And, in the closing stages of Sunday's Antiques Roadshow, Fiona made a direct appeal to people watching at home to get in touch if they had any old toys they think might of value.

As clips of experts looking at doll houses, puppets, He-Man action figures and a antique Mickey Mouse toy appeared on screen, she explained: "We're planning a special edition of the Antiques Roadshow celebrating toys in childhood. If you've got an old teddy lying around at home, a vintage action figure or an old train set, we'd love to hear from you."

If you fancy being on the toy special, can get in touch by visiting the Antiques Roadshow website.
