Antiques dealer feared drowned after going for Christmas swim was trying to save woman in distress

An "incredibly selfless" man who vanished after going for a Christmas Day swim had bravely tried to help a woman in distress before being swept away, according to a close friend.

Matthew Upham, 63, and another unnamed man in his 40s are feared to have drowned off the coast of Budleigh Salterton, Devon.
