Masked anti-Israel demonstrators staged a protest outside the residence of Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman in Cincinnati, escalating their harassment of the Jewish congressman. The protesters arrived early Sunday and set up an encampment with tents, cots, and sleeping bags in the road. Landsman reported that they harassed him and his family members, necessitating a police escort for safe entry and exit from their home.
Landsman expressed concern over the timing of the protest, which coincided with the anniversary of the October 7th terror attacks where Jews were killed and kidnapped. He mentioned that he and his daughter had to navigate the encampment to attend a service on Monday.
The group responsible for the demonstration, Midwest Direct Action 4 Pali!, shared a video on Instagram showing masked participants marching in front of Landsman's home. The protesters carried white bundles resembling shrouded bodies and displayed banners representing death toll numbers. The group remained outside Landsman's residence on Monday.
In a statement, the group mentioned that their protest was aimed at denouncing Landsman's votes to conceal the death toll and continue funding in Gaza. They expressed their commitment to ending what they referred to as a genocide in Palestine and achieving freedom for the region.
This incident is not the first time Landsman and his district have faced targeting since the conflict began. In a previous incident, a poster with Landsman's photo and inflammatory language was placed near his district office. Additionally, in July, Landsman visited the Covedale Cemetery Complex in Cincinnati, where 176 Jewish gravestones had been toppled.
