Two rookie quarterbacks facing in the NFL isn’t rare, but Sunday’s Colts vs. Texans game will be placed in the history books as the youngest quarterback matchup in league history.
Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson and Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud are both 21 years old heading into Sunday’s game.
The matchup came at the right time of the season in order for it to be historic as Stroud turns 22 in just a few short weeks. Richardson, though, won’t turn 22 until May.

Stroud was the second overall pick of this year’s draft out of Ohio State, while Richardson, out of Florida, was the fourth pick.
Both young starters lost their respective first games in the NFL last week. So, Sunday will result in a first career win for one of the rookies.
There’s been a lot of young quarterback talent in the NFL in recent years. Back in February, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts made history as the youngest combined age for the starting quarterbacks in the Super Bowl.
