Anthony Joshua lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles in September 2021 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Oleksandr Usyk and will have the chance to regain his title in Saudi Arabia on August 20.
The rematch was due to be held in spring, before Usyk, the unbeaten former cruiserweight, returned to his home country of Ukraine to assist with the ongoing war effort following the Russian invasion. This caused a delay but the fight is now confirmed and will be one of the biggest fights of the year.
The fight will take place in August at the Jeddah Super Dome, with the 40,000 capacity stadium having already hosted WWE Elimination Chamber in February. It will not be the first time that Joshua has fought in the country, having won his rematch against Andy Ruiz there in 2019.
