Anthony Joshua receives more backing to beat "arrogant" Tyson Fury in title fight

Deontay Wilder's coach believes Anthony Joshua can cause "arrogant" Tyson Fury trouble if he adopts a more aggressive style in their potential fight.

Joshua was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight rematch last month and it appeared that he would be out of the world title picture for the first time in several years. However, his long-term rival Fury decided to offer 'AJ' the chance to seek immediate redemption again by challenging for his WBC heavyweight title on December 3.

'AJ' has accepted the chance to take on Fury at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and is awaiting a contract with the bout yet to be officially confirmed. Despite Fury likely going to go into the fight as heavy favourite, Wilder's coach Malik Scott believes if Joshua sticks to a strict game plan, he could pick up a win in shock fashion. "I really can't say [who wins]. I can't say because if you go off of the last fight, stylistically, Fury and Usyk have a different style," Scott told Fair Betting Sites when assessing the potential clash.

"I can tell you who I would give the momentum to. You have to give the momentum to Tyson Fury. It's only right. Now if AJ is intelligent enough and is willing to be physical enough, he could throw a monkey wrench in that, if he's willing to attack Tyson Fury's flaws; foundational flaws, hand positioning floors, vulnerable flaws - where he takes his opponent for granted - then AJ could cause some trouble. Tyson Fury is a very intelligent-arrogant fighter.

"He pours his arrogance on guys, a lot of times he beats guys mentally. If you don't fall for that and you stick with your game plan and you're willing to run through him the right way, not just from an emotional standpoint, but the right way. Then I believe you could give him trouble. The right way to handle him is attacking his mistakes."

Joshua was set to face Fury last year in an undisputed title clash, but the 'Gypsy King' was instead forced to accept a third meeting with Wilder, who was defeated despite knocking down the champion on two occasions. The fight has yet to be officially signed with the challengers' management team confirming he is waiting for the paperwork to be sent over.

However Joshua's coach Robert Garcia has suggested the fight won't take place in December as planned. He told ID Boxing : "I believe if it happens, it won’t happen December 3. I think there’s just not enough time to promote the fight and everything, it might be pushing it too soon, but if it does, we’ll be ready.

"Look, it’s a huge fight, it’s the biggest fight in the UK. So it’s a fight that actually needs to happen, you know, sooner than later, it needs to happen. Would I prefer it to happen two or three fights from now? Yes. I’d rather him take two or three fights before anything huge."
