Anthony Joshua accepts all terms for huge all British-heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury in December

Anthony Joshua’s management company today confirmed he has accepted terms to fight Tyson Fury in a world heavyweight title showdown on December 3.

Fury has offered Joshua the chance to fight for his WBC belt in what would be the biggest fight in British boxing history.

Joshua was beaten by Oleksandr Usyk last month, while Fury is searching for a high-profile opponent after the Ukrainian indicated he does not intend to return to the ring until 2023.

In a statement today, Joshua’s management company 258MGT said: “258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm, on behalf of Anthony Joshua, that we accepted all terms presented to us by Fury’s team for a fight December 3 last Friday.

“Due to the Queen’s passing, it was agreed to halt all communication. We are awaiting a response.”

Joshua initially responded to Fury’s offer earlier this month by saying he would be "ready in December". And the Londoner has accepted the offer of a 60/40 split, in Fury’s favour, to take the fight.

In a video posted on social media earlier this month, Fury said: "You’ve all heard that I’m going to be fighting within the next few months, and before I announce an opponent I need to do this just in case.

"Anthony Joshua, I know you’ve just lost a fight to Usyk, and I know you’re belt-less at the moment, and I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.

"You’re coming off a 12-round fight so you’re match fit, you’re ready, I’m giving you a few months’ notice.

"If you’re interested I’ll send you the date over and we can rumble - a battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world."

Joshua replied: “Yea calm. I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if your really about it shout 258mgt. I’ll be ready in December. Khalas.”
