Anthony Gordon has expressed his delight at Everton's efforts to stay in the Premier League after their nervy 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth.
The 21-year-old, who is a product of the Blues' academy, swapped Goodison Park for Newcastle United in the final days of the January transfer window after failing to show up at Everton's Finch Farm training ground on consecutive days.
Gordon returned to Merseyside last month as a second-half substitute in the closing stage of the Magpies' 4-1 victory over Sean Dyche's side and received a scathing reception from the home crowd as a result of the way in which departed the club.

However, taking to social media on Sunday evening after Abdoulaye Doucoure's stunning second half volley helped the Blues secure three points against the Cherries and avoid a first relegation since 1951, Gordon said: "Well done to everyone involved at Everton."
Since his £45m switch to St James' Park, Gordon has struggled for form and only scored his first Premier League goal for the club during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Newcastle club media after yesterday's game, he said: "It's been so difficult because of the level I was at coming in, the level of the lads here was so much higher. I had such an uphill battle to match them, obviously I had the injury, and I always felt like I was chasing.
"I feel like I had a lot to do, and it was hard mentally and physically. Now, I feel like I've got a big, big summer coming up to put myself in position for next year.
"I've got the under-21 Euros, so physically I'm going to be so on it like never before. Out there [today], I'm absolutely blowing. In this team you have to be so fit, the gaffer demands so much from the players. That's something I probably didn't expect or didn't know, but I know for next year so I'll be on it."
