Right champ, go out and conquer Europe again. Get rid of any demons still lurking in the depths of the mind. Prove you are what you have now become. A winner.
Anthony Gordon led England by example to their first European Under 21 crown for 39 years after the pride of Young Lions overcame Spain's stiff opposition deep in Georgian territory. A team winner became an individual winner, Newcastle's latest hero being voted Player of the Tournament by UEFA's Technical Observer panel. The ultimate accolade.
It brought to a glorious conclusion a seemingly never ending arduous 11-month season for two clubs, one country that had seen Gordon mired in doubt and accusation. The long slog had began back on August 6 last year when Gordon was part of the Everton team beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Goodison and ended on July 8 in total fulfillment after a tough time criticised in his native Liverpool for the manner of his departure from a club which had been his home since the age of 11 and a difficult start to life as a £40m high profile Newcastle United import.

However all comes to he who waits. A place in history is his and, armed with surging confidence and better fitness, Gordon can now go on to fulfill his considerable potential at club level.
He can take on Europe's Champions League best with United and help create a few epic victories as well as hold centre stage in the Premier League. Of course such exalted surrounds are another step up from age group football, even at international level against the cream of emerging talent across a continent, but the path is clear.
Gordon became the first current Magpie to feature in England's fourth Under 21 final and their third success. Oh there have been other Newcastle players in the showpiece game but they were either before or after never of that day - winners Paul Goddard and Ray Ranson in 1982; Kevin Brock, Paul Bracewell, and Howard Gayle two years later. Plus James Milner in 2009 when England lost to Germany.
This however carried extra significance and the bonus for Gordon can also become a bonus for Newcastle. While the dressing-room spirit was undoubtedly fractured at Everton where relegation enveloped everything like a huge wet blanket Gordon must feel he has walked into paradise.
Eddie Howe is famous for creating one big happy family which is exactly what Lee Carsley has done with England. It has shown throughout a tournament where penalty hero James Trafford and his defenders kept six successive clean sheets and upon the final whistle in Batumi it was there again. Jubilant young history makers cavorting with the trophy pulled out a shirt with Jacob Ramsey's name on it to show their support for an injured team-mate.
Ramsey suffered a broken foot during England's game against Portugal and could miss the first part of the season. His club Aston Villa open at SJP on day one of course.
Now after the shortest of breaks go out next season Anthony and blitz both the Premier League and Champions League. The world awaits you so sweep the tough times into the dustbin of history. It is your great opportunity.
